Excel Help - How to Split Text in Excel
In this video I’ll teach you how to take text from a single cell and spread it out across multiple cells. Splitting sentences, addresses or other textual data across several cells in Excel is a useful function which can speed up data entry.
The first step is selecting the column you want to split by clicking the column heading. Don’t select more than one column at a time.
Click Data, then Text to Columns.
Make sure Delimited is checked.
Click Next.
Depending on how the text in the column is split, choose an option and check the corresponding box.
Click Next.
Click Finish.
